Aloo Gobhi (Potato Cauliflower) Recipe










This Aloo gobhi (Potato and Cauliflower) recipe is North Indian punjabi style. it's cooking time is little fast than normal aloo gobhi dish. I boiled aloo and gobhi first and then cooked with spices. You can microwave it instead just add cut aloo gobhi in a microwave safe bowl add little water, cover and cook for 4 minutes.

This can be served with roti or paratha. Try with yogurt, It tastes delicious.



Aloo Gobhi Recipe

Servings - 3

Ingredients 
  • Potato peeled and diced - 2 
  • Cauliflower break in florets - 1 small
  • Onion chopped - 1 large
  • Tomato chopped - 1 large
  • Salt to taste
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 tsp
  • Garlic minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger julienne 
  • Hing (asafoetida) - a pinch
  • Dry fenugreek leaves - 

Directions 
  1. First boil cauliflower and potato for 5-6 minutes until tender but not mushy. Add a pinch of salt. 
  2. while aloo gobhi is boiling start working with masala. Add oil in a pan let it hot on medium heat, Now add hing.
  3. Add cumin seeds and garlic saute for a minute.
  4. Now add chopped onion and fry till translucent.
  5. Add tomato and spices garam masala, turmeric, salt and ginger. Add 2 tbsp of water and cook till tomato is mushy. 
  6. Now add cooked caulflower and potato cook on medium to high heat for 5 minutes. Add dry fenugreek leaves and serve with paratha or roti.
