Urad Chana Dal | Langar Wali Dal | Black And Yellow Split LENTIL SOUP | Indian Lunch Recipes | Curry Recipe

dal recipe indian lunch menu

Mah Chole Dal / Chana Urad Dal by whatever name you call this dal recipe. It tastes super delicious and yummy. Back In India we used to go to temple, there we used to have this dal as Langar (Parshad). That's why this is also known as Langar Wali Dal...

This is one of my family's favorite dal. I make it more often. This dal goes well with rice and roti. But i personally like with rice.

It's texture is super creamy and thick but This has tendency to get more thick when cooled so you can add more water and boil it again for next use.

How To Prepare

this dal preparation is easy and simple like any other dal recipe.. first you have to soak for 1 -2 hours.. Soaking actually reduces the cooking time, then cook in pressure cooker for few minutes.

And then tadka (tempering) is made.. which consists onion tomato and a blend  indian spices then dal is simmered on low heat for few minutes.. simmering enhances the flavors of dal.
